ARTIST PROFILE

I believe that the body is a powerful tool of communication and as such the way we dress and alter our image can be too. My work uses a range of mixed media to explore the female form, body image and the effects our society has on the way we view ourselves. 

My MA focused on exploring the female form and using textures and structure to depict the body in three key stages: Maiden, Mother and Crone. Although I primarily work in textiles I also combine other materials into the wearable pieces I create, such as metal and jesmonite.

I have found  a love of creating lightweight wearable pieces using body casting and jesmonite, a technique I developed throughout the course of my masters.
